BTU understands construction projects follow tight timelines, and we aim to make working with our staff a pleasant and efficient experience. To get started:
- Contact the New Services Assistant at (979) 821-5770 to set up a new project. You will need to provide the service address (911 address) assigned by the City of Bryan, City of College Station, Brazos County, or surrounding counties.
- Projects will be assigned to a Line Design Technician the following business day.
- A Line Design Technician will contact you within 2 business days from the date the project is assigned to set up an on-site appointment to determine electric service requirements.
- Meet a Line Design Technician at the property to determine requirements, costs, and right-of-way clearing needs to prepare for construction.
- BTU’s Line Extension Policy will be applied to determine the portion, if any, of the total project cost you will be responsible to pay. This is known as the Contribution in Aid of Construction (CIAC).
- Complete any required easements and permits required by the city or county.
- Once the CIAC is paid (if applicable) and all required documents are provided, the project will be scheduled for construction.
NOTE: In addition to new service, Line Design can also assist with requests for security lights, line relocations, service upgrades or other modifications to existing service.
