BTU's Partnership with KBTX and Climavision Brings Clarity to Weather in the Brazos Valley

As a municipally-owned utility, Bryan Texas Utilities’ strives for community safety and reliable service. In its latest effort to further these commitments, BTU has partnered with local media station, KBTX, and Climavision, a radar services company, to bring a cutting-edge weather radar system to the region. The new radar, installed through this innovative partnership, sits atop the David G. Eller Oceanography & Meteorology Building on Texas A&M University’s main campus.

Crews spent long hours in the Texas heat repairing damaged infrastructure. Joe’s Place, a local favorite bar and restaurant in Wixon Valley, decided to give back to linemen who had given so much for the community.

What many visitors may not know is that the magical ice blocks that bring this attraction to life are crafted by a longtime Bryan Texas Utilities’ customer: Flying Penguin Ice. From their facilities in Bryan, this specialized ice manufacturer has been adding color—and holiday cheer—to Ice Land for more than a decade.

Inventory Process Underway for Bryan's Water Service Lines

The City of Bryan’s Water Services is working diligently to identify city- and privately-owned service lines as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) updated Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). This federal mandate requires all community water systems to identify and replace lead service lines within the next 10 years.
